​Who is Aphrodite?

​To understand Aphrodite is to understand the raw, elemental power of attraction. In Greek mythology, she was not born in the traditional sense. She arose from the sea foam (aphros) off the coast of Cyprus, fully grown and breathtakingly beautiful.

​While she is widely known as the Goddess of Love and Beauty, she is far more than a pretty face. She is a force of nature. She represents:

​The Sea: Deep emotional waters and the subconscious.

​Victory: In some ancient cities, she was worshipped as Aphrodite Areia (Aphrodite the Warlike), proving that love is a force that conquers all.

​The Friday Ritual: The Pink Flame

​Since Friday is the day of Venus, it is the traditional time to perform spellwork or rituals regarding love and relationships. Below is a simple yet powerful ritual you can perform at home to invite Aphrodite’s energy into your life.

​What You Will Need:

​A Pink Candle: Pink represents emotional love, tenderness, affection, and the heart chakra. (If you do not have pink, a white candle anointed with rose oil or dusted with cinnamon works, too).

​An Offering: A small dish of honey, a few sea shells, or fresh flowers (roses are best).

​A safe space: Where you can sit undisturbed for a few minutes.

​The Steps:

​Prepare Your Space: Clear off your altar or table. If you have a Tarot deck, you might place The Empress or The Lovers card on the table to act as an anchor for the energy.

​Cleanse: Take a deep breath. Imagine a soft pink light washing over you, clearing away the stress of the week.

​Set Your Intention: Hold the unlit candle in your hands. Close your eyes and think about what you need from the Goddess. Do you need to forgive yourself? Do you need to attract a partner? Do you need to feel beautiful again? Pour that feeling into the wax.
